Need to find Marinas near Columbus Ohio

Well, we are finally making the move to Columbus, Oh at the end of the month. I am semi-retired and sail as often has I can, so I am hoping to find a marina and lake fairly close by. I currently own a 1976 Catalina 27 and hope to move her the end of July if I can find a suitable place to park her.

I have been told about Lake Erie, but it is a bit far for my gas guzzling truck to be going all the time. Googling sailing in the Columbus Ohio area returned Buckeye Lake. It is about 15 minutes from my new home and would allow more funds to be put into the boat instead of the truck gas tank. I have found only one Marina on the lake, The Buckeye Lake Marina.

Has anyone sailed on Buckeye Lake in Ohio? Any suggestions for a reasonable marina on the lake?

I Apologize if this is posted in the wrong forum. I tried searching for any information through the search feature but found nothing.

As always, Thank you for any information provided.

Thumbs up Sailing around Columbus area

Atwood Lake is approx. 1 1/2 hours from Columbus. Seasonal docking and storage are all availible @ Atwood Lake Boats Marina West. 2- Yacht Clubs are on the lake and are family oriented with die hard sailors. The Sailing Buckeyes Yacht Club is $30.00 per year membership fee and has scheduled races every Wed evening and 1 sunday per month in the summer with 2- Regattas each summer. As the Race Chairman of the SBYC I would love to invite you up to take a look at our facilities and meet some very good people who would love to have you on our lake.

Sailormon6 will become famous soon enough
You might also look into Alum Creek reservoir, which is nearer to Columbus than Atwood Lake. Their local sailing club's website can be found at Alum Creek Sailing Association
