Just in case you did not know, today is Cam's Birthday!! They even did a magazine article on him recently...
which he shared with me and Jeff when we went to his party. We decided to put a candle on for every year - then ran out of candles. It appears Sams does not sell in that kind of bulk supply. So, we did one candle for every 5 years.
It took one big flame to light it, let me tell you. Iran was watching closely:
But finally it got lit...
Then, disaster struck. It was awful Cam called for his nurse...
to bring his O2 tank to blow out the flame on the cake. Just a warning for those with very, very, very ederly people - never use your oxygen tank to blow out a fire:
It was not pretty, as you can see. Cam told us to run out and get his car...
so we could take him to the hospital, but then the police showed up (along with what I guess is a lot of concerned neighbors). They demanded to take him for a ride... so we let them and left.
Cam has been rather cranky ever since. That is why I think it is time to wish him just a nice happy birthday. No mean jokes or off color humor. Definitely nothing about his age. He is getting very forgetful and cannot hardly remember the date anyways. Just a hearty, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

PS Whatever you do, don't ask him about his ride to the hospital.
