Herewith an example of objective reporting on the citizens of Findlay, Ohio by the Washington Post. This is not an editorial, it is an expository article on the impressions of Findlay's citizens of Barack Obama. You'll not read a greater send-up of the fly-over people than this. The condescension of Ohioans fairly drips from the page. What quotes there are are rather difficult to put in context other than the context of the writer's point of view. Let's face it, if you're a resident of small town America you're a bumpkin that will believe anything. We should be greatly relieved that our betters at such as the Washington Post are there to straighten us out. The only thing the writer left out is how these redneck morons became computer literate.

One of the principle charges of the author is how the citizens of Findlay fear change. Without getting into a protracted debate on what has changed and how, where would you rather live, the Findlay, Ohio of 1959 when Jim Peterman bought his house or the Washington, DC where you've got to go to the Supreme Court to get the right to defend yourself from your neighbors? It must be inconceivable to the WaPo that not all change is for the better.
