Brand new shaft drive seal, brand new shoes.

Oil on the brake shoes. The rear foot brake lever might as well be another footrest. How does anyone every get oil off the brake shoes?

Spray the shoes down with this a few times. CRC BRAKLEEN 15 oz. 5084 CRC CHEMICALS USA

You can take a propane torch to the shoes afterwards and boil/burn a bunch of the remaining oil distillates off.
