Hehe!

I can't help but laugh at news people anymore. Ohhh, whatever.

Talking

CNN (the Clinton News Network) at its very best.

I thought this was amusing:

QUOTE: Last year, federal agents seized four F-14 fighter jets sold to domestic buyers by an officer at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, California, for $2,000 to $4,000 each, with proceeds benefiting a squadron recreation fund. When F-14s were new, they cost roughly $38 million each. UNQUOTE

Feds seized four Tomcats? Uh, sorry, CNN, the last of the Tomcats were already gone. Further, if some officer sold domestic buyers a Tomcat for $2 grand, I'd be willing to bet he'd probably sell you some nice swamp land in Georgia, or maybe a bottle or two of Genuine Snake Oil, guaranteed to cure anything...

Oh, well.

My phone has a little 'news ticker', and CNN provides the news. It never ceases to amaze me what they consider newsworthy. And I'll always wonder where they get their 'facts'.

Ah, well, back to the mysteries of my Perkins...

later,

Let's see. If I can get an F-14 for $4000 what should I have to pay for a modest Spruance class destroyer? I don't really like the mast on the Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates and the Spruance is the more seaworthy of the two. I'm not sure how I'm going to break it to tdw that there are going to have to be some changes at Z-dock in Holland. I think he'll come around though after an afternoon of plinking off jet-skiers with the three inch gun while anchored off the state park.

My favorite news for the day was that Iran was warning us that an attack would mean they would target our USN vessels in the Gulf. Sure, I'd be trembling.

In anticipation you smucks.

Another thought. I could probably scrape together four grand for a Tomcat. I might even be able to fly it (fly it--not necessarily land it!) but then I'd have to feed it! At the price of JP-4 today, it would be like the fishing boats in Miami. They just sit there.
