Ditto. I'm on fiber optic and it is maddeningly slow.

I just reformatted my computer and was wondering why it was suddenly slow. But I forgot that someone had mentioned the youchoose.net host problem. So I added the line to my hosts file:
127.0.0.1 www dot youchoose dot net

but replace the dot above with a . as the filters here make that into a url when I post it....

On windows the hosts file is in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

It seems that the youchoose servers take a long time to respond or the browser just times them out. Adding the above line to the hosts file makes your browser try to connect to your local computer thinking that is www dot youchoose dot net. If you have a webserver on your local computer that might make the above fix do funny things but its doubtfull you would have a webserver and not know it.

I forget who originally put out this fix but its in the forums someplace. whoever it was sorry I can't give you credit.

IIRC, it was Artbyjody... but that's not the reason SNet = SlowNet.

Sometimes it's okay for me (generally during the day here = night for you guys), but when it hangs I give up and do some work - so that's not all bad

I check in to see if it's any better, but have been spending more and more time over at Cruisers. Too frustrating waiting for pages to open. You'd think it would be a priority and get resolved quickly if they are losing so many hits.

I tried Sailnet last night and it was crawling on all fours, so I gave up. Seems to be okay now, but it's 3:15 a.m.
