Meant to post that earlier, and forgot. I think he got the thinking of the MSM down exactly.

Sway, as you are a well known heathen I'm not surprised this did not 'sway' you into the circle of light.
Thanks for the link to the thoughtful, concisely written news article detailing your favorite media personality cum politican's history making message delivering globe trot. All the other reports speak media altered trivia.

And then there is this.

Everything seemed planned for the future campaign commercials — at least, that’s how it seemed to a U.S. Air Force captain when Sen. Barack Obama and his entourage swooped into Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan for an hour-long visit last Saturday at the start of a week-long foreign tour.

“He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle” without pausing to acknowledge the U.S. troops who had been waiting all day just for the opportunity to meet him, the officer told the Blackfive pro-military blog.

As the soldiers lined up to shake his hand, the Illinois senator “blew them off and didn’t say a word,” ducking into the conference room to meet the general.

Then the armored vehicles took him to where “he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to soldiers to thank them for their service,” the captain wrote.

“As you know, I am not a very political person. I just wanted to share with you what happened” during Obama’s visit, the captain related.

“I swear, we got more thanks from the NBA basketball players or the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders than from Senator Obama,” he added.

I'm surprised, given his political acumen, Obama allowed his true feelings about the military to show so blatantly. I am most definitely not surprised the Senator has this typical left-"liberal" disregard for the military. Do not, btw, expect to see anything in the dominant media about this incident.

And Sway, thanks for the article. That was hilarious. Like most great humour, it contains more than a grain of truth.

What does remain is that he was informed that he could visit the wounded troops at Ramstein Hospital in Germany as a sitting Senator. He and his staff could visit but that "political" visits were not allowed. Cindy McCain was turned down for a visit to a hospital ship recently for much the same reasons. Obama elected to delete the hospital visit from his itinerary. Whether you wish to regard that as placing politics over visiting the wounded in service to out country is a matter of personal interpretation. Personally, when you have the opinion of the military that the left does, a visit to a military hospital in unlikely to change my opinion of their judgment.

At the risk of eternal damnation, it has to be asked ...... do blondes think?

If they do though, it should be apparent that rather than make the visit non-political, it's only purpose was political. In other words, visiting wounded soldiers wasn't about the soldiers, it was about Obama.
