Thumbs down Gimme a break!

I just noticed the new, longer, much more extensive list of 'special interest' listings.

Come on, guys. Things are already running at the speed of molasses in January. The last thing the poor server needs is to have to sort through more stuff. Especially redundant stuff.

I can see having a few of those special interest items like electronics, but gods and thunderbolts!

Sorry if I'm stepping on someone's toes, but...gimme a break!

Hmm. I modified my post because I must have misunderstood what you were saying Gary. I thought you were saying that Sailnet had added a lot of new forums.

Edit, okay, I see what you mean now. Yeah, I didn't even know those special interest forums were there. I would never take the time to go through all of those, and I wouldn't post a message there I wanted anyone to read.

They were there but were in hiding Gary - Seems they made up groups for all the email subscription groups - Why? - I dunno

Gary...they are only sort of new. The sailnet e-mail lists for various boat owners and groups have been here for a very long time and have just recently been converted to on line sub forums called special interest groups. Only e-mail lists with activity since April 1 were converted.
This has the effect of freeing up the e-mail list SERVER which will be used in the next couple of weeks to take SAILNET forums and make them run better instead of serving a small group of e-mail list users.
Hope that is somewhat clear!

The e-mail listing service is for people with actual lives who just want a question answered and have no desire to talk about something they no nothing about. If nobody ever e-mails you you can sign up for all kinds of interesting categories. I thought by now there'd be one for wombat husbandry but alas that need goes unmet.

Sway,

There's a new e-mail discussion list on wombat breeding and artificial insemination of wombats and how to collect the needed materials.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Does this mean I can start receiving email notifications?

It has yet to happen!

Believe the e-mail server is being re-purposed... and will no longer be serving e-mails.
