If there are rules about wakes, can't you tell the harbormaster? Even if it goes nowhere, they'll watch him like a hawk. You might find someone else has complained before.

Stillraining--
The catch is that it's not tubing. It's 1/8" ID PIPE. It has to hold pulses of 2500 PSI when the injector pump hits it. The ferrules are silver soldered in place, and the bends, of course, are critical. Not only that, but a buddy in FTL tells me that the system is 'tuned' for specific length pipes. Changing them arbitrarily is Not Good.

As to suing him, it's simply not worth the grief and effort.

As for all of the dirty tricks, thanks for the ideas. I'll try to resist them all . It's gonna be hard, though. I like the idea of a few feet of poly-prop line. That stuff becomes a mini-train wreck when it gets wrapped around a shaft. Hmmm....

Gary1-

We're not suggesting you sue him...just take him to small claims court... if he doesn't show, you can put a lien on his boat for the amount of the judgement.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Gary Injector tubing is what its called...It is very similar to break line tubing.. most injector tubing is copper lined and the manufactures who made the originals just buy it in bulk..As far as bends and length...its bendable with tubing benders...as far as timing and tuning...your friend is correct in not wanting to circle the perimeter of your marina with the stuff from pump to injector but wrong as far as precise placement and length of each line...The pump supplies the same pressure to all injectors irregardless of their distance and the injectors meter the same discharge irregardless of which cylinder there in. Friction loss is miniscuel .0001% ( arbitrary number ) in the application were talking here not getting the exact line...and that is the only thing bends or distance will create...as a mater of fact you would be hard pressed to get as tight as bend as the factory line and bends affect friction loss 5 to 10 times that of adding length to any specific diameter will.
As far as the brazed fittings from the factory...compression fittings work just as well...a machine bends and welds theirs up faster and cheaper with less mistakes then a human can put togather a proper flared fitting..and they need them all to be very close to the same so when they do sell a replacement part it fits..thats all.

Bulk double wall steel tubing by TI Automotive

I have done it or I would not have recommended it..

Just trying to save you two weeks is all...By the time you buy the tools ( if you cant barrow them ) the cost will be around the same...but you will have the tools..and knowledge to do it again..

I agree with still raining. Fabing up that tubing, including the flares, shouldn't take more than an hour for your first time. Beats 2 weeks and having the same thing happen again later down the road.

Before you go making your own lines:
I heard/read somewhere that the all the injector tubing has to be the same length. A 2H we are putting in an FJ60 has all the lines the same length. I haven't measured them, but the injector tubes that are nearest the pump have extra bends to make them the same length as the farthest.

Maybe I am wrong but I am sure someone will let us know.

I two have noticed the extra bends to maintain the lengths so I will concede on this issue alone..but he has the origional so your argument of not making his own is mute.. as he could match its length.

OH shoot hang on for a few minutes...

I couldn't stand it so...........

I have just returned from my equipment yard after measuring 4 different engines injector lines ( yes all of them... with my wifes sewing tape ) it appears they do keep them pretty uniform with extra bending ...on any one engine all were within 2" of length of each other...on one they were all within 1/2"

So simple solution make the new one the same length as the old one...

Been there Cap'n Gary!!! Even wrote an article on it in Latt & Att!!! I feel your pain. Only difference between you and I is that I have NO problem running out on deck and screaming at him (them) and embarassing him (them).

Oh well. Hope you get her all fixed up.
