I just thought of something Rags..... Jor-El...Gore-AL...that is freaky!

"Jor-El ...Jor-El first appeared in Action Comics #1 as Kal-El's (Superman) biological father. Jor-El is a Kryptonian and the husband of Lara Lor-Van. He is a scientist, and leader on the planet Krypton before its destruction. He foresaw the planet's fate, but was unable to convince his colleagues in time to save their race after his appeals.

Thanks Cam. I guess I should've stressed the connection in the text. My though was that if I so much as mentioned Superman I'd ruin the satire.

"Al Gore—or, as he is known in his own language, Gore-Al—"

"The baby was also wrapped in a blanket emblazoned with the Gore family crest, which, because it is made of Earth materials, will be invulnerable on the new planet. It is hoped that one day it will be fashioned into a colorful costume for the boy to wear while fighting wrongdoers."

Yes, the Onion can be very funny indeed.
