McGovern gets one right
For those unfamiliar with the Union Payoff Bill, cleverly disguised as The Employee Free Choice Act, Mr McGovern hits the nail smack on the head. This legislation has nothing to do with free choice, and everything to do with paying off Big Labor.

Wow..that surprises me. I have to revise my view of him. He obviously has some principles. OK...that's two...him and Lieberman. Any other nominations for Dems with Principles?

McGovern is an honorable man but generally misguided in most matters regarding the latter portions of the twentieth century. But even a blind pig finds a chestnut every once in a while.

One thing it illustrates so well, is how liberals find it necessary to call things by what they aren't. Far from free choice, this bill takes away free choice by eliminating the protection of the secret ballot.
Besides being the Payoff Big Labor Bill, it could also be called the Unionize Walmart Act, as well.

I would define principled as taking a stand against your party because you believed it was right on a big issue.
I am not talking about corruption. I asked for Dems who have taken a principled stand to disagree with their party on an issue of significance. Dems here may feel free to give examples of republicans who have taken principled stands to disagree with their party. As a matter of fact, I'll start with McCain...though other RINO's may be easily found which is why I was interested in what Dem's have behaved in a similar manner.
