How do you post here from a Hosting site.

OK :

Here is one for you computer literate types..

I just started a Photo bucket account...uploaded a couple pictures..directed to them via URL's in a post here and all that showed up were the links, not the pictures...and worse..when clicked on,they opened up with full access to edit delete..whatever you wanted to do.. Needless to say i deleted both attempts at posting them.

WHAT Am I DOING WRONG??

Also some of you are able to put text between each photo..I want to do that as well..

Did you put IMG tags around the URLs? I'm guessing you did not.

I'm guessing that's because it was you that clicked on them and PB had you still logged-in.

Just like normal.

Pretend the parenthesis in the example below are square-brackets, ok? (If I actually used square-brackets, you wouldn't see anything.)

---example follows---
(img)URL-to-image-goes-here(/img)
Some text goes here
(img)URL-to-another-image-goes-here(/img)
Some more text
(img)URL-to-third-image-goes-here(/img)
And so-on...
---end of example---

Jim

Whampoa is on a distinguished road
Morning,

How is beautiful downtown La Conner this morning? We enjoyed our visit to that area last year.

On topic, which of the links in Photobucket (PB) are you selecting to paste into your posts here in the forum?

All you need to do is select the one marked "IMG Code" under your photo and then paste it into your post here. In Photobucket, just place your cursor over the text of the link under the photo you want to include and click on it.

You should see a highlighted box show up telling you the link has been copied. Then return to your post and put the cursor where you want the photo inserted and paste the link into your post.

Use the enter key on your keyboard to add a line after the photo link and you can then add simple text. If you want to add another photo, go get another PB link and repeat the process. I think there is a 5 photo limit per post here in Sailnet but I could be wrong about that. Different forums set different limits.

PM your phone number if you like and I will try and walk you through it over the phone if you need to.

Regards, John

Still, below each photo is four tag lines. Simply single click the bottom one (IMG Code) and paste it into the post where ya want it.

Still-

Replied via PM... This is what I wrote.

Scott-

When you're at photobucket, copy the text from the IMG CODE box that says for forums and bulletin boards. If you paste that text which starts with a left square bracket, "IMG" and a right square bracket, and then type after the end of it, which is a left square bracket, "/IMG" and a right square bracket—you can post multiple photos with text between them.

Here's an example. I'm going to substitute curly brackets for the square brackets so you can see what I'm actually typing and then type everything normally, so you see what it will look like.

This is what what I've typed would look like, substituting the curly brackets for the square brackets:

Trimaran image 3
{IMG}http://i348.photobucket.com/albums/q358/Omansail/O80623_OmanSail_135.jpg{/IMG}
This is what it actually would look like:

Hope this helps.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Don't feel bad old mate. Took me forever to work that one out and I still cannot make video posting from e,g. YouTube work.

So on a level of useless moronity you are nearly on par with me.

Wait, let me rephrase that.......oh never mind.......you're not related to Mohammad I hope.....

TDW-

Part of the problem with youtube embed links is often the browser you're using. Some browsers mung up the HTML code and then the link doesn't work. Try using a different browser.

On the right side of the screen on a youtube video page, there is an info box with an "embed" code, which looks something like this:

Quote:
[object width="425" height="344"][param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7y24hiNyGks&hl=en&fs=1"][/param][param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"][/param][embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7y24hiNyGks&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"][/embed][/object>]
I've replaced the "<" with "[" and the ">" with "]" so you can see what it says. If you paste that into your post and the browser doesn't mung it up, you get this:
