Rockter will become famous soon enough
I am falling to bits

I went to the doc with the old heart flutters.... had them before.... like a wee missed beat every few minutes.
My blood runs cold when he tells me that a valve is leaking... a "whisper" sound apparently.
I had rheumatic fever when young and a bout of throat trouble in the summer that lasted for weeks.
Did I miss another late attack?
I feel all right...I have my full strength.... just a flutter every now and again.
Ticker trouble of all things. Where is this leading?
The heart nurse will run some tests in the morning.
I am not even 50 yet.
I am falling apart.

Hang in there Rockter, ya ain't done yet. Ya may have to make some basic changes, like getting yer ass from in front of the keyboard and going sailing more, for the exercise of course, maybe some dietary changes.

I think valve trouble, as well as an enlarged heart, are common products of rheumatic fever later in life. My father had rheumatic fever and was scheduled for valve work when he died from a heart attack. Aged 63. I think this matter merits your full attention while you still are feeling good. And, btw, enjoy life now-after turning fifty it seems a race to the bottom between mind and body!

Rocker, I am really sorry to hear about your heart problem. In April I had a second heart attack after I had been to the hospital 6 times since November to have 12 stints in my heart. Do whatever they tell you and take it easy.

Rockter,

Sorry about that news. On the positive side, it sounds as though you've got some pros taking care of you. Follow their advice and get the problem under control -- meds, surgery, pacemaker, diet (ease up on the caffeine a wee, eh laddie?), whatever.

But do get out on that solid ship of yours -- nothing like time on the water to melt the worries away. All the best - John

Rockter- not good news to get, but sounds like you caught it early and the docs are going to get you the proper care. Someone else mentioned cutting out caffeine, good advice. Take care and keep us informed.

Best wishes, John

Nutz! If your heart ran on diesel, you could have had it self diagnosed and fixed by now.
