Unhappy No rest for the wicked

This is going to be a bad year...

Fay just went away.

Gustav is getting ready to flush Lousy-ana.

Soon-to-be TS Hanna is building a head of steam and will be coming our way sooner, rather than later.

Sigh. More dock lines. Another fender board. A few more items on the list. Joy, joy, happy, happy.

But Gary, you have to pay some price for not having to haul out for five-to-six months of the year.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I reckon so.

I was thinking about that. I don't think I could take living in a place where I had to think about chipping the ice out of the rigging; the river, lake, etc., freezing up under the boat, or whatever. Too bloody cold for my arthritic old bones.

Hanna's official BTW. Batten down the hatches, mate. We be in for another blow...

Hell up here we just have 9 months of drizzle and four months of Gales to worry about. I don't miss the hurricanes, roaches, humidity or skeeters.

Actually, I'm terrified of the day when the NHC decides to name a hurricane (or himicane, if you want to be PC) Murphy.

I can just see it now.

Best Wishes

I can only wish All down there the best... Pretty nasty looking storm not to mention being followed up by Hannah- yikes... Not wanting to mean- just honest when I say- People who live down there just have to know this is about as likely as a snow storm in the winter season of Maine... For those in Hurricane Alley- my heart says I'm sad for you all...My Head says- MOVE...
