New infestation

Has anyone but me recently had an infestation of the dreaded polyestermites? I understand they're doing well up in the Chesapeake.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

The scourge has migrated from the mid-west and is now seen on the Chesapeake with increasing frequency. It's becoming a real problem -- making osmotic blisters look like child's play. I've mentioned them here in the past, mostly to newbies purchasing boats. Unfortunately, they seem to think this is some kind of joke. Caveat emptor.

They haven't made it to Lake Norman either, I don't think. Perhaps we're too far inland. However we do have fibermites. Luckily those are waterborne and our boat is on a lift.
