He was also a world traveler at a very young age, went to Harvard & Columbia Law. And I'm pretty sure his major wasn't sports journalism...

And he ended up as vice president because the leaders of the republican party wanted to get "that damn cowboy" someplace where he couldn't cause trouble, and they thought the vice presidency was perfect. By 42 he had been Assistant Secretary of the Navy, whcih provided extensive foreign policy experience, and had written numerous books and essays on subject ranging from foreign policy and history to ornithology.

We'll try not to hold Harvard and Columbia against him, though many would. Not sure what his childhood vacations have to do with the riddle thou????

Well, W went to Yale... Should we have held that against him? I think we hoped it meant he had some shred of intelligence...But alas, it was not to be...

Anyhow, back to the travel... See, back in the "olden days" when people traveled they acually went and experienced other culture and learned things... They didn't have the luxury of riding around in buses with smoked windows while wearing fanny packs.
