The deregulation I'm talking about happened in Clinton's first 2 years in office when the accounting rules were relaxed to allow brokerages, accounting firms and banks to get into bed together. That's where all this started.

Bush will not give our ss money to wall street. he wants to give us the OPTION to invest ss money in wall street. You would have the choice of investing in federally insured bank deposits if you don't like wall street

as for bush destroying the country; if that is so, the dems sat idly by and let him and even voted for him to do what he did. Even obama voted for many of bush's proposals, that is when he wasn't voting 'present'.

Why is it that nothing bad can be traced back further than Clinton?

And if Obama is elected and something goes wrong, will it then be Bush's fault?

Just asking.

Actually, the first step in Deregulation of the banking industry which caused the Savings and Loan fiasco (a 500 billion dollar hit) was 1980's. It was in reaction to a reaction to a reaction that goes back to the 1929 crash and the regulations written to 'prevent' that from occurring again.

The real problem is we have politician's, most of whom are trained in law deciding economics which is a screwy as having your lawyers fix your health care - oh wait that's another issue.

Trust me, if Obama is elected, it will be Bush's fault; just not in that way

Actually, anything bad that happens between now and the end of time will be directly traceable back to George W Bush.

Bush has pretty much disappeared from any news I see for a while now. He is probably wishing for his term to be over as much as I am.

I think we use to have a vice president named Dick Cheney, I remember I use to see him on TV, just about every day.

He's been in hiding in an undisclosed location ever since he shot his friend in the face.

Everyone was soooo sad that Bush and Cheney couldn't make it to the GOP convention!! It would have been great to see them 'pass the torch' to McCain
