From what I have seen in my regular monitoring of the market, the outrageous deals that were available a couple of years ago are pretty much gone. Back then I saw deals on Craigslist that made my teeth hurt - I remember an old IOR Peterson / Eichenlaub aluminium two tonner in VERY nice shape in L.A. that was ASKING $20K - the forest of winches would have been worth nearly that (I am one of those odd people that actually LIKES old IOR race boats. ). There were many smaller boats being given away, or nearly so. I don't see those deals any more but the overall market has averaged down since then.
Here in Canada it took longer for the effect to really hit but boats are very cheap now - 1/2 or less of what they were before 08. Moorage is the big problem here.
