Is Bush Responsible For It Or Not?

Very simple poll..

The US is in serious difficulties, as we speak, and we all know that..(except those that look to the side and pretend all is good)..

Just answer YES or NO..don't waste too much time with explanantions as to why ..YES or NO.

No in-betweens. He either is responsible or not.

Keeping it simple - the answer is no, not entirely.

Unfortunately it is not that simple. You have to first understand the role of the President, Congress and Senate. Based on that, the answer is no, not entirely.

jrd22 will become famous soon enough
I answered yes before I read the question because we all know that he is responsible for everything negative that has happened in at least the last 8 years, if not a lot longer if you consider global warming (eons?).
But the answer is definitely "no" to this question. Geez, I really thought I was on safe ground with that answer too. Oh well, back to Cetoling.

Bush is responsible for many things and I can't stand the guy...but I wouldn't hold him responsible for this. The whole thing is very scary and I really hope that the $700 billion relief money is available. China is loving this and can't wait to buy up all the properties and own the USA. That you can Bush for.

No. He has been a great disappointment in many areas...and yet has kept us safe and made great progress against terrorism and given us a Supreme Court that is less actvist. He IS responsible for allowing the growth in government spending and pork and NOT using a Congressional majority to make progress on many domestic issues AND for screwing up the war for several years as well as not getting the WMD thing right . But I would lay the majority of the blame for the current financial sector crisis well before his time. Let's remember that he INHERITED a recession from Clinton, inherited BinLaden from Clinton, inherited a nuclear Korea from Clinton, 30 years of NO refining plants, new oil drilling or nuke plants from a variety of Dems, inherited an out of control mortgage/housing Fannie/Freddie situation from Clinton (and was BLOCKED by Dems in 2003 from more stringnt rules), and had to deal with a new war and a trillion dollar economic loss from 9/11.
Giu...the simple answer is NO...but life is more complex than that. There's more than enough blame to go around.... and McCain is not Bush. This election is about the future...not the past. I don't trust our future to Obama AND a dem majority in both houses.

Strange, how eight people voted Yes at this time and only JRD has posted a comment. And that was to say he voted Yes before he would have voted no. I really would like some of those Yes voters to explain how this is Bush's doing? I really really would.

I want to know where or what Chris Dodd ( Head of banking commission ) was doing for the last two years? (besides taking money from Fanny and Freddie).
