Las Vegas!

Awhile back . . . . . . . Cheri and I reserved the next week off to do some sailing on the Bay and attend the Kemah In the Water Boat Show as we do every year. We always stay at the Board Walk Hotel . . . plaza view . . . so I can sit on the balcony with a cold beer and watch the sailboats pass while Cheri does her . . . .whatever she does that takes so long. If you’re going to wait on the other half to get ready there’s no better place than one of those balconies . . . with an ice cold beer . . . watching the sailboats . . . . . . . and listening to the gulls. God I love that place!

Plans change . . . . . . . Ike.

Instead of just going back to work we got a wild hair today and decided we would fly to Vegas Thursday night. We’ve never been there and I’ve never seen a casino outside of a cruise ship or the U.S. Capitol building.

The only plan we have is take a shuttle from the airport to the Luxor when we get there and the shuttle back to the airport Monday night.

Question:
What do we do with three full days in Vegas?

How about go sailing ? Maybe if you are a Yacht club member you can take a basic keelboat class for the members price, sure be cheaper than gambling.

Sailing is always a great idea Cap; I already have an ASA book full of stickers. My family would probably agree with you. Bob could use more lessons!

We'll have three maybe four full days there. I want to see the Dam and some Elvis impersonators but outside of that we have no plan. Maybe that's the best way to do it. Lake Mead is appealing . . .

Day 1 - walk down the strip, cirque du soleil + buffet at Paris (trust me its worth spending 3 hrs there)
Day 2 - Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, fly over Grand Canyon trip
Day 3 - strippers, hooters, casino, etc. (important thing - do not get married there as I did )

Thanks Dry,

1 and 2 sound great! I'm out on number 3 due to Cheri coming along. She said way back that dating would put a strain on our marriage. She is up for the casino. She placed 5th (out of 5 entered) at Texas Hold 'em tournament in a local pub here so Vegas should love seeing us roll in.

. . . . . . . Off to the airport!!!

Adios all!!!

Just came back from a week at the RIO. Had to go, business reasons. I actually hate the place. Reminds me of CHuckie Cheese for Adults. It is worth going to the strip and especially the Bellagio, its worth the walk.

My opinion the shows are over priced as is the food. Sit a a bar and play the games, that way drinks are free. I did hear that "Jersey Boys" was a good show.

There is a restaurant called the voodoo lounge atop the RIO. Foods good and the view from the terrace on the 52 floor is great. They also have a free masquerade show inside that is pretty good.

Enjoy
