Now I'm no fan of the insurance companies but, just let me get this straight, our whole health care porblem can be laid at the feet of the insurance industry? Gee, why didn't I think of that? Insurance companies are the problem to health care the way Exxon-Mobil is the problem to oil. [I

Whats that saying? For every finger you point at someone else, there are two pointing back at you? America is a country of finger pointers. You can blame the insurance companies, but why did they raise their rates and basically take control of the medical industry? Litigation, and its price tag. So we blame it on lawyers? No. We can only blame it on ourselves, we hired the lawyers. Its the mindset of "I'm fat and its not my fault" that got us into this mess. Doctors not taking responsibility for screwing up operations or misdiagnosing, patients not taking care of themselves, insurance companies refusing to pay for claims. No one wants to be responsible for anything. We priced ourselves out of the market, so to speak, by being greedy and irresponsible.

You're right.

The corruption is in your country too, its in all government. The difference is that you are guaranteed, by paying higher taxes, only to be taken advantage of beyond a certain level. You get retirement, education, health care, etc. Big business and government is still making money off you, just not as much. We, on the other hand, can't even keep our roads paved. We are treated like idiots, feed the public enough so they are not hungry, but not enough that they are full and lazy. There is too much money in this country for us to make any large scale changes. By that I mean that Americans are placated. We have too much to become too upset and to force any real change on one hand, and on the other, the government doesn't run much in our daily lives, so we can't blame anything on them. The government in your country has to do things right because of the larger involvement in your everyday life. If they screw up, you notice it sooner and take action against them. They have a fear factor built in. Don't make the locals angry. Our government doesn't have that.

Lets not over look this: When they fix the problem using only 500 Billion, they will take the remaining 200 Billion and find a way to put it in their pockets. This bill was hurried through not because of the failing economy, its still failing and wall street keeps crumbling. It was hurried through so we couldn't get a good look at it and react.

KODAD is on a distinguished road
Health Insurance seems to really be pre-paid health care
