Alex,
For what it's worth my friend. I would really hate to see you change anything about the way you interact here.
You are experienced, knowledgeable and willing to share. You are certainly talented and entertaining. But most importantly perhaps, you are a big softy.
You have been on the road, taking crap from a lot of unseen personality's and haven't been able to be with your family.
We derive so much of what keeps us going just from being around those that love us. You've been lacking that. Hope you get back home soon.
In the meantime, you've got the right idea.
Stay away from what irritates you.
But only until you're not so irritable anymore.
You're stuck in Wyoming...far from your two kids and wife... no wonder you're in a grouchy mood.

If you're new to the Sailnet Forums... please read this POST.
Don't know why it is but this is the only sailing forum I visit where I get involved in this political crap. No more. Sailing only. Life's too short.
It's a shame because we should be able to discuss international affairs without all this left v right hooha but that appears to be a pipedream.
Such it is.
(I'll miss the occasional foray into the Song Chain though and it will not be easy to keep my trap shut after the debate today but grit my teeth I shall )

Hey TD, You're grouchy too.
Maybe, on some level you know that you're among friends here and that's why you're comfortable getting involved in the political crap.
And what's all this left v right hooha that offends you so? I don't understand just what upsets you. Jeeze, you know that people are passionate about their long held beliefs. Why are you so upset that they defend them.
You are defending your's.
We live in stressful times. If participating in discussions like this add to your stress instead of providing a release for it, then do, by all means, avoid them.
But really, aren't you taking it all just a little too seriously?
I am land locked for 3 weeks away from the family and the boat...and start getting grumpy, and offensive...
really..has hapepened before as AE so well states..
I just need to go home..
It's my falult not anyone else here
I feel for you Alex - I've been in central Ohio for the past two weeks, away from the wife, boat and friends, and it isn't fun. In fact, today is the first time I've had a chance to even check Sailnet. Then to see that you are going to bag on everything but sailing related posts - not a good day. I'm most upset to think you are giving up on Photoshop. Don't worry, you will get home eventually, the stars will realign, and all will be good in your world.
As of today, my contributions here will be limited only to sailing related stuff..no more off topic for me, or AFOC stuff or photoshop..or anything not wind driven.
I have been accused of being an American hater, which I am not, (if you did that you don't know me), obviously, I have many US cutomers, so I can't hate them or you, I have been accused of hating Bush, which I do not, I couldn't care less..it does not concern me, and my remarks about his policies were taken to extremes by extremists, which I don't care much about either...and personally I don't care about Obama and McCAin or which oner wins...I have even been accused of hating catalinas, which I do not, maybe some confused my joking with CD as bashing Catalinas..I onlu bash ONE catalina, a certain boat that since he was born never did what it was supposed to do...
So, before I start getting the nasty emails and pm's as happen before, I please ask you, don't joke with me, don't provoke me, and above all don't judge me or acuse me from what I say here...especially if you are sitting far away from me, in your small screen computer, wondering if you should provoke me or mastubate...you know who you are I'm talking about...
We have a saying were I come from..if the seat is hard, put a pillow underneat your butt...
So I just did..sorry....
You are a no good, Catalina bashing, sheep humping, George Bush hating, Dick loving (er, Cheney that is), two fisted sandwhich eating, motor boating, slow sailing, democrat hating, Sailingdog Loving, republican contributing, Cam lusting, Rocna anchor less, cheap cigar smoking, French envying, no grilling, motor boater.
Did I miss anything?? I am not sure why that would bother you?? I thought everyone knew??
How many times have you heard the words from your Texas friend (No, not Georg4e Bush... me - CD): It is the internet. Brush it off.

Yeah, well, I'll take that bet. First, I need to create "The Mood". A little internet searching, and ah-ha!!!
Australian Conservative party brings in republican as leader
« Previous « PreviousNext » Next »View GalleryPublished Date: 16 September 2008
AUSTRALIA'S conservative opposition party today elected a staunch republican as its leader for the first time, giving a strong push to those who want to dump the Queen as the country's head of state.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd seized on the Liberal Party's appointment of multimillionaire former merchant banker Malcolm Turnbull to chide the opposition on the republic issue.
Turnbull, who backs making Australia a republic with its own head of state, chaired the Republican Movement from 1993 to 2000. He was narrowly elected by his lawmaker colleagues by a vote of 45 to 41. He defeated incumbent Brendan Nelson, who argues Australia should retain constitutional links to the British monarchy.
National University political scientist John Warhurst described Turnbull as "Australia's highest profile republican". pointing to his leadership of the failed campaign to make Australia a republic in a 1999 referendum.
Now, what have you to say about that, Mr. WOmbat?? You are being invaded. The days of the Liberal are over. Even Sway is looking at moving there.
