Australian Party Brings in Republican As Leader

That's right. Read all about it here (no, it's not the National Review for pity's sake... this is a respectable news article).

Mr Wombat, what have you to say for yourself?

Can't you read CD. I don't do OT.

But as you insist.....I'm on record here as saying that if he ever became Prime Minister he could be one of the greats. Sadly since he became leader of the Liberal Party (ironic name that) he has not impressed indeed his statements on the current economic crisis have been populist nonsense.

Ref republican - he was head of the Australian Republican movement and as such should bear quite a lot of the responsibility for the fact that the Queen of England is STILL the Queen of Australia. That sucks.
