alex,
if you're really lonely, you may want to take a run down to arizona.

Fire Chief Caught On The Lamb
Arizona man, 52, found with pants down in neighbor's barn

MARCH 7--If our mail is any indication, many of you are very interested in the case of the Arizona man who was arrested this weekend after being found in a neighbor's barn with his pants down and a gray lamb at his side. Leroy Johnson, a deputy chief with the Mesa Fire Department, was nabbed shortly after the neighbor's teenage daughter watched him drag the animal into the family barn Saturday afternoon. When later confronted, the 52-year-old Johnson, who apparently had been drinking, told the neighbor (who has the improbable name of Alan Goats), "You caught me Alan, I tried to **** your sheep." We'll let you explore all the gory details yourself, via a (too) detailed Maricopa County Sheriff's Office report. Johnson, seen at right in a booking photo, was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and public sexual indecency. Along with releasing its report on the incident, the sheriff's office provided TSG with evidence photos of the poor lamb--who is pictured below--and the alleged scene of the crime. We'll excuse ourselves now. We have to shower. (8 pages)

Here we are again at the sheep shanking portion of our season. There wasn't much reference to sheep all summer but now that the first snowfall of the season has struck, sailnet mens thoughts turn to sheep. Funny but hog hasn't chimed in yet, still warm in the Hilton Head I suppose.
I do hope you all practice safe sheep shanking.
Shouldn't this be in off topic?

Wasn't sheep shanking the accepted pastime for Portuguese sailors all through the middle ages? Seems pretty on topic to me

actually it was the English.

WELSH:
A race that is misunderstood by their neighbours the English due to their craftiness and intelligence. The English call the Welsh sheep-shaggers due to an old trick used by the Welsh against their gullible English neighbours in medievel times, when the English had a nasty habit of xxxxxxx sheep. When Wales adopted English law they noticed the penalty for shagging a sheep was less than stealing one (due to the English's habit) so whenever they were caught stealing a sheep they would instead say they were planning to xxxxx it instead to avoid the fine.
Therefore there is a very long list of crimes involving Welshmen shagging sheep, although it is only the English who would actually ever xxxx a sheep, it is just another example of the Welsh tricking the English once again.
Englishman "You are going to have your hand chopped off with an axe because you stole a sheep."

Welshman "I was infact taking the sheep to xxxx."

Englishman "Oh, thats good then our law endorses sheep shaggers. You will only have to lose a finger.
