Washington is The Problem

Now here is an article well worth reading, on many fronts. It cries out for greater amplification on some points but certainly makes some very valid points. The interviewee's credentials aren't bad either! (g)

Why listen to people who have actually accomplished things, when we have so many who either have done nothing, or screwed up what they have done?

for those who are visually oriented learners

there is a chart this am on cnn.com
The American dream - on hold - (1) - FORTUNE

it shows the 2006 numbers from the IRS--( and I am accepting that as a non biased source) of the breakdown of us tax payers by income bands and the % of all income taxes collected-- chilling reading when you consider how many people can vote and thus influence how $ are spent and yet they do not contibute to those $ to be spent...might explain some of the disconnects we see in our political processes.

lynn,
It sounds like a case of representation without taxation. Oh, the irony!

Precisely my point, if I pay 95% of the taxes, shouldn't I get 95% of the vote?

Progressive taxes suck and are anti-American. I suspect in fact they violate the 14th amendment (equal protection and all that).
