An Open Letter to Obama Supporters

For those of you who support Senator Obama in his bid for the Presidency, I would like to state, openly and honestly, that I do not oppose you for making your choice. What ever I may think of your decision on an intellectual level, it is your right to make it. Not once have I accused you of anything belittling, as has been done in many post about those who support Senator McCain.

I have repeatedly asked for some type of objective reason for your support of Obama, without receiving anything other than subjective rhetoric such as change. Vague statements of "fixing" America, or other such ambigous responses.

That said, you are perfectly free to make a subjective, rather than an objective choice. While I may question that you do so, I do not question that you have the right to do so. What I do take objection to, is the effort to refute or rebut, not by a display of fact, but by feelings. Or by the regurition of facts without any support in the public record.

You ridicule calling him a socialist, yet you do not dispute his own words that brand him as such.

You ridicule his past associations as being somehow irrelevant, though you don't rebut the public record that says they exist.

It has been shown that his campaign has disabled the software that prevents fraudulent donations, yet, you not only do not deny the allegation, you ignore it.

When asked for a list of accomplishments or achievements that would indicate that he would fulfill his promises, you have none. Only a blind faith that he will somehow act now, other than he has acted throughout his life.

By all means, vote for Obama if you choose. But please, don't expect the rest of us who won't to put on blinders and follow.

PB, as you know I am not an American and cannot vote but if I was and could I would vote for Obama.
1. He realizes that something needs to be done with the medical system
2. He realizes the importance of job creation and wants to do something about it.
3. He realizes the obscenity of paying people hundreds of millions per year.
4. He beleives in freedom of choice.
5. He beleives that the US needs an exit strategy in Iraq.
I object to people calling him a "socialist" because in the US it's just name calling to get a negative reaction from people not beacuse they are opposed to the policies but because they have been told that it's bad.. ooooo the socialist boogey man.
He denounced his religeous affilaition with the good reverend because the guy flipped out.
Ayer's has been called a terrorist yet all charges were dropped and it was a long time ago. McCain was busy womenizing about the same time do you think he's a sex addict?
BTW, the republican strategists seem to have given up on these last three criticisms of Obama because they were not working. Surprise!! people are more interested in the economy.

The main reasons I would not vote for McCain
1. Sarah Palin
2. Out of touch with the average American family. Doesn't know how many houses he owns and has no job creation program.
3. No plans for Iraq except stay the course
4. No plan for the medical system.
5. No plans to stimulate the economy, I'm not even sure he knows there's a problem after all the economy is fundementally strong.

I'm not going to insult anyone - except I will say this... after 30 years of fighting for my country, in the military and defending it in many other ways, having grown up in the 1960s and 1970s the idea of Socialism in ANY FORM is objectionable to me and abhorrent.

I simply will NOT stand for it in the United States of America. No, I don't CARE if 51% of the people want it. Tough. It's not their call.

The USA is NOT, I rePEAT NOT a "Democracy". We are a Representative Republic. NOT A DEMOCRACY.

We do not RULE the minority of the people by the majority.

This is not how it works.

The "medical system" is not broken. What is broken are the people who think it needs fixing. I go to the doctor and PAY for my medical expenses. Others go to the emergency room for colds. They think *I* should pay for it. This is SOCIALISM. It's WRONG.

Jobs are NOT created by the GOVERNMENT. Jobs are created by businesses. Big Business and Small Businesses create jobs. The government by taxing the hell out of businesses takes jobs away.

Obama wishes to tax big business. He wants to tax people who make 250k a year. Why the hell should I be taxed more if I make more money than someone else? Redistribution of MY wealth to someone else is STEALING. It's SOCIALISM. Socialism is stealing.

It is obscene for someone, say like Bill Gates to make hundreds of millions per year? How so? It's his company. Because he makes this money it is wrong? No, it is wrong to think he should have it TAKEN FROM HIM and given to "the poor".

The poor should get out and do an HONEST DAYS WORK. Like I have done since I was the ripe old age of 15 years old. I have worked nearly every day in my life except some weekends and occasional vacations. My wife and I both worked our assess off and raised five children, and we've got eleven grand kids. I STILL work my ass off, and I protect this country in my job - and believe it or not, some other countries out there.

Does anyone give ME anything? NO. I couldn't get FOOD stamps because I made 20 dollars too much while in the military. Did I make it and feed my kids? You're damned right I did I WORKED.

Do I want someone's hand out? NO. Keep it. Do I want to give my MY MONEY I EARNED? NO. The poor and the Socialists can KISS MY ASS.

Freedom of choice is NOT something Obama believes in. He believes that people "cling to their guns and bibles because others aren't like them".

That is an ELITIST POINT OF VIEW.

In MY country, ebs001, there is a REASON for that set of Amendments to the Constitution that were put in place BEFORE it was ratified. They are called "The Bill of Rights" for a reason.

My Freedom of Speech, freedom of religion and my right to keep and bear arms go hand in hand and if you try to take them, my guns VETO YOU.

My GUNS veto my GOVERNMENT too.

I didn't spend 30 years defending that Constitution to sit here and let some Socialist like Obama take away my rights. He won't do it, because there are millions of us that won't LET him do it.

The US Government might be very powerful, but you have to remember something - it is made up of people JUST LIKE ME. None of us will carry out the orders of a corrupt government and take people's rights from them.

Never forget, Americans, that this country was founded on FREEDOM and NOT on SOCIALISM.

Last, but not least of your points, is Iraq.

My son was there, he fought in that war as have dozens of my friends. You and the rest of the clowns that THINK it was an "illegal war" or "wrong" or whatever else you think about it are completely and totally uninformed, ignorant and uneducated if you think those things. Or you think we "need an exit strategy".

As an American Fighting Man I will tell you that there is NO ONE on this planet that abhors war MORE than the Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine. NO ONE - and don't kid yourself about that. We HATE WAR.

None of us like it, none of us want to die in it. NONE of us wants to see our brothers and sisters in arms die needlessly or go into harms way.

But, sonny, let me tell you this.. we ALL understand that sometimes WAR is NECESSARY and RIGHT to protect our way of life, to prevent things like 9-11 from happening again and I will gladly fight my way through the worst of terrorists and evil to STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

I'm damned sick and tired of people who apologize for terrorists like Hamas, and Hizbollah, Al Qaeda and the rest of those Islamofacsists. I'm sick to death of children of 18-25 years old who are too stupid to vote, and yet think they are saving the world by voting in socialists. I'm SICK of people who apologize for America, or put America down, or say how evil we are.

I'm sick of all that crap - and I'm sick to death of foreigners like you who try to tell ME how my country ought to work. Why don't you stick to your OWN country and clean up your own problems - and don't tell me you don't have any, all countries do, including America.

Our problems are lazy people who won't work, illiterate people who won't learn, ignorant people who simply will NOT study and understand History and refuse to understand that if you won't learn from history you're doomed to repeat it.

Obama is a Socialist. If you want him to take your money in the form of taxes and give it to someone else, then yes, you've chosen the right guy.

Remember though, when those guys come to take your guns, your children, your BOAT, YOUR RETIREMENT MONEY that YOU ASKED FOR IT...

Don't come to me for help because *I* will turn you away - so will the other 260 million other gun owners in this country. We will be busy fighting our own war and won't be bothered by the lazy, illiterate, ignorant sheep who couldn't see this coming because they refused to learn from history.

I still own guns. I won't give them up while I'm alive for all these reasons.

We have an exit strategy. Leaving when the Iraq people can be secure in their persons and property under a freely elected government. Obama's strategy is get out as quick as possible and damn the consequences.

You don't create jobs by decree. Nor do you create jobs by promising those who do create them, that they will be punished for their success.

The only problem with the US medical system is the notion that the best medical services in the world should somehow cost the same as those in a third world country. Are there outrageous costs in some areas? Yes. Are their onerous compliance and insurance costs as part of that pricing? Yes. Will nationalizing the entire system solve those problems? No.

And then there is the question of Senator Tom Coburn. A doctor. A doctor under the threat of censure for providing free medical care. A censure supported by Obama. Hardly my idea of concern and compassion for those in need.
