Halloween, Small Town USA

Well, to get away from all the political junk, I decided to post a few pics of what it is like in Small Town USA for Haloween.

I live and work in a small town. Many of us live in the country surrounding it. As such, it is hard to have a real Trick-or-Treat given the housesw are so spread apart. So, a few years ago the town shut down early and the businesses hosted a trick-or-treat in the town. It caught on and has grown.

Now, the grocery store (Brookshires) the banks and all the businesses shut down and participate. It is safe, free, and fun. We even had some smaller towns bussing kids in to participate. Basically, as businesses, we all buy PILES of candy and dress up along with the kids and pass it out. We generally shut down about 5:00, though the lines start before then.

We figured, in all, we had somewhere around 500-600 kids. What you see in these posts are only a small part of it. It is just nice to see everyone pulling together to make something succesful and safe. It is not expensive it is not too time consuming. It is not for any political gain. It is simply because small towns pull together. Another reason it is a great place to live.

Here is a pic or two. Hope you enjoy it...

- CD
