Election 08 - What's Happening ?
Excuse the impertinance of opening this thread but the results are starting to come in so hey.....we have to have a thread don't we ?
First results I can see ...
Kentucky as expected gone McCain
Indiana started off looking OK for Obama but now looking McCain
New Hampshire strongly Obama.
Now correct me if I am wrong but...
Kentucky - never in doubt....
McCain would be expected to take Indiana but it could be close and if Obama took it then McCain is in deep doodoo.
McCain really needs NewHampshire but not looking good in early count.
Now look...no matter who you are....lets not make this political Ok ?
Lets use this thread to watch the results as they come in. Predictions are cool, political bias is not ....at least until someone has 270.

What will be interesting, aside from relationship to the polls, is that of the down ticket races to the top. For instance, they give the VA Senate seat to the Dem, but show McCain up comfortably.

What is a 'down ticket race' ?
Vermont, Massachussets, New Jersey and Maryland are all being given to Obama. Very early counting though. I'm not sure I trust such predictions based on such small numbers.
Then they give Delaware and District of Culumbia to Obama with 0% counted. WTF ? This is all exit poll stuff isn't it ?

Currently 89 electoral to 39 ...with Obama in the lead. 270 needed to win. But early states are all eastern and NO upsets anywhere yet so still too early.

Pennsylvania called for Obama...this was a McCain hope. This makes a close win for him ALMOST impossible now.
