Should AFOC's be Licensed?

After reading Sway response in the licensng thread, and the many other applicants like Sailchick that want to join, I have been thinking: Should AFOC's be licensed?

I am thinking yes.

Thoughts?

Licensed to commit mayhem in other threads, absolutely. I got my Certification of Authenic AFOC status from the man himself - and since then have only been banned once.

License to kill stupid posters, I like that. Give mine to Sailingdog along with my next 'get out of banning' card.

That is all fine, but should you have a license to operate in the AFOC thread? DO we want certified AFOC's???

Cetainly not! You must EARN it. Americans. Always wanting to get something for free. Not easy posts for this license.

Naa - just let them run wild. Darwin will thin 'em out. I mean it's nothing but inbreeding over there, right? Kind of like "The Royal Family" of Sailnet?

Wait - aren't you guys AFOCS?

Thanks Chuckles...

Personally, I think most of the AFOC's are clearly certifiable...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

You know, first boating and now AFOC's. You guys simply want too many freedoms. Now ask yourself this question: Without proper training, how would we know that you have earned the right to be an AFOC? How would I know, should I meet you in Chicago, that you have the skills to be an AFOC and are not simply some pretender that woke up one day and decided to be an AFOC?

These are complicated questions, but I take my AFOCness serioulsy. And I have not even brought up the BITE ME endorsement. First one AFOC uses it, then all the AFOC's and wanna be AFOC's think they get to use it.

This place is falling apart and needs some stardardization and licensing. I also think we should kick John Pollard out. He is too nice. Tes Shannon too. He is gone. They would never pass the test.

What if you're an unintentional AFOC? I've never posted to AFOC but sailingdog once called me "one of the biggest AFOCs on this site" shortly before he began ignoring me.

I never thought about being an AFOC, but if you guys have a buffet over there, I definitely want in. And I'm sponsored!
