To America and the Americans

To those that are in favour of your new electred President, congratulations, to those that do not favour him, I am sorry...

I wish the United States and its people, good luck and the best in a new step of their lives..

I also wish that God gives the new man, all the wise decisions and may he not screw up, as he is now the most important man in the World...a task that is not to take lightly...

He will need help and support has the horse he is about to ride is not an easy one....and is hard to tame...

Please Mr. Obama..just be careful....we all hope you are good, as we are all connected one way or another..

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

If anything, and it may not be much to our European friends, who probably shake their heads at us with wonder sometimes, it gives a new insight into the American people.

Mothers and Fathers have always told their kids, "This is America, you can grow up to be anything you want if you try hard enough, even president of the United States."

That, until now, has been an unfulfilled promise that this had nation made to its immigrants, willing and unwilling. The promise has now been shown to millions of young kids of other races other than "white" that it is true, we can grow up to be anything we want, even president.

Now, the problem for Obama, isn't running the country, the country can pretty much run itself. His problem is to maintain a positive role model for the ones he inspired, and not screw the pooch.

NOW it's time to post something very IMPORTANT

You all probably figured out how I voted. Gui, thank you very much for your well wishes.

Now I'll tell you how I REALLY feel about all of this.

For 30 years I've worked for the government in form or another, either in uniform or out of it. Six times I stood and said, "I do solemnly swear to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States of American, against all enemies, foreign and domestic..."

That oath does not go away based on who happens to be "in power" at any given moment - unlike many other countries around the world where people seem to be simply loyal to a certain man, or religion.

Not in the USA.

Those of us who are Conservatives don't "give up" and hide. We continue our jobs, we continue to work, and we continue to protect this country as we did under a Republican President.

I have worked under Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and will continue to do my part to protect this country - against it's enemies, and to stave off adversaries as they rear their heads.

Americans, Gui, don't quit just because someone got elected that they don't like.

The new President has my support - just as all the others before him had it.

If he proves to be a bad President, that's going to show in history. If he proves to be an "enemy of America" that will be something he will have to deal with - from the PEOPLE of this country, which includes Congress.

However, while I KNOW he is a "Socialist" at heart, I also have been there and seen first hand how Presidents learn and begin understanding the Country they are sworn to protect.

Obama is just like me, Gui and every other human being - he's simply a man. Nothing special, no more or less intelligent than any of us. He will have one thing going for him - he has the ability and power to chose GOOD advisers and LISTEN to them as well as NOT take the bad advice.

America will change little, except perhaps internally a little at a time.

Bad things will be presented, and the PEOPLE will veto it (attempts for instance to force universal gun registration, or banning as an example, simply WILL NOT happen).

The attempts of the current Congress and many of the Liberals sitting in Congress to "bring back the Fairness Doctrine" will be fought on all levels, by most people, including some of the same people who think right now, it's a good idea.

Minds will be changed, and America will go on.

Thanks for the well wishes.

And to President Elect Obama... good luck, you're going to need it, your job is more than cut out for you.
