I am in the states doing the financials for the year...
Hoping to go back to IRAQ in dec if i can get around the darn medics ...

Anyway. How do YOU SUPPORT THE ARMED FORCES??? In dollars or time?
It sounds real nice to say we support out troops...Then hang your head and say not the war but thats your thing...

So my way besides trucking there supplys....When i go to the PX in any camp and buy something i buy for the 2 military men behind me.Cost me a little over $4500 in 9 months.....

So what did YOU DO FOR YOUR ARMED FORCES IN THE LAST YEAR?????
Dollar wise or time wise????????

Travler, I have been a menber of the American Legion for over 30 years. I have decorated graves, sold Poppy's on street corners, visited vet hospitals, run all kinds of fund raisers, boxed care packages, still ware a MIA bracelet, trucked grain so a father of a injured vet could be with him, and reached in my own pocket more times than I can remember.

I am nobody different than anyone else, there are lots of old guys out there just like me. We just don't make a big deal out it.

my sister is an active Blue Star Mother, I give her cash every year.
Donate to the Fisher House, they have living accomodations near many VA hospitals for family visits

Wondering who to contact to see if there are any vets who would like to go sailing with us for an afternoon. Perhaps the local VA hospital?

Dunlookn has a little shameless behaviour in the past
What Did I Do/What Do I Do Now?

I retired after twenty years in the US Army...and a tour in Iraq.

I now work with seriously injured men and woman returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Before you make assumptions about the men and women here...or use some standard to decide if YOU think they are doing enough...

ask what you can do for your country."

I will continue to do whatever I can, but like Bubb said, I won't advertise it, cuz until I stand between a soldier and a enemy sworn to kill them, whatever I do, not only could'nt hold a candle, but is embarrassing in comparision.

But I will continue to do it

Sorry Mark, I can't afford to do anything for the Armed Forces. All my money goes to support Planned Parenthood.
KILL THE BABIES!!!
BTW, where can I get an application for a driving job in Iraq? I hear the money is pretty good.

Hat off to you SIR,
Honestly do you think if you had made a big deal about it would our troops would have better care/benifits than in the 70's
My thoughts

Laughing,
I do not think you have a big enough boat to walk the halls of the VA asking "Do you want to go sailing today?"That is all it takes.

But you would enjoy it as much as they would.
My Thoughts

Mark, I came home from the Army in the mid 70's. You do have it better today. For starts you have the respect of the country!
