al gore incoventient truth (longish)

why the hell does any one follow this man, i am watching it right now and he keeps contradicting himself. he said if greenland melts sea level will go up 20 feet, then he shows an image of greenland having melted about 40 %, doesnt that mean the sea level should have rose 8 feet now. he just showed a pic of some lake in russia that they used for irrigation with a "massive" fishing fleet beached, where did the water go, if it was used for irrigation the whole area should be under water, the water does not just disappear. he stated 1/3 of the co2 released is due to area burning for crops mostly in afirca, then showed a map with contributions to green hose gasses but africa on does 2.5 % of all, which is it AL 30 % or 2.5 % ?

this man has agenda which he has figured out to milk for lots of money, the one big group that he talks about buying credits from he owns a fair share. this company invests in supposibly green companies. then if the law gets changed to mandate these companies for green reasons. he will be raking in the cash faster than anything before. his house runs many thousands of dollars in electric bills, george bushes uses rain water to flush toliets. i am not saying bush is better on global warming but the facts speak on life style

Bush has a White House and a “green house”

disclaimer: this is not a global warming thread its an al gore thread

Scotty,
We've got a thread already where we discuss such inanities and hypocrisy. It's called Democrats versus Republicans. You might read the long forgotten opening post within it. I think you'll find it interesting.

These guys start out attempting to save the unborn gay whales and it's not long before they're taking perfectly good barleys and corn that might otherwise be put to use making fine whisky's as God intended and they're pouring them into your gas tank. You can rest assured that their future vision does not involve them their ownselves sitting around a fireplace grate trying to heat up a cup of Ramen noodles over a dried corn cob fire.

oh sway. Your new godlike status is causing you to mix your metaphors. It is YOU guys who obsess over the unborn. It is US who worry about gay whales.

If you want to moderate you need to keep this straight. And you are right about my future vision. I see myself sitting around the rail mounted barbecue staring at the sunset. Ramen noodles? I spit on Ramen noodles. And you should never promote burning corncobs on a boat. Very bad. Bad sailaway.

My relationship with God is based wholly on the notion that he is not only forgiving in nature but offers some measure of redemption. At least that is how I pray. Your confusion, on the other hand, knows no boundaries, political or otherwise. I am not a moderator and even my dog finds me a lesser light in the firmament of higher beings. I'm grateful for the concern though.

Rockter will become famous soon enough
I think the lake was the previously-vast Aral Sea. It was shallow and very productive. In the Breznev years, the great rivers that fed it were diverted for cotton production, a notoriously thirsty crop.
Evaporation then exceeded the water arriving, and it shrank, leaving an utter catastrophe. I mean it's beyond belief.....

Aral Sea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

...and they knew it was going to happen.

The climate changed around the great lake, but only because the water was stolen.

The subject has nothing to do with global warming though.... absolutely nothing.

I shut it off near the beginning when he had the nice graph of co2 vs temp. History shows that when co2 rises, temp rises with it (or is it the other way around?) and now we have a huge co2 spike. The trouble I had was the lack of a corresponding temp spike. The whole thing was a little disturbing. See the co2 graph? see the temp graph? see how well they fit together? now see the huge co2 spike? and that's it. no see the corresponding temp spike.

I think the environment should be kept clean for a variety of reasons. Global warming is not one of them.
