Snowed in

So, some of you are out sailing. In the mean time most of the north is experienceing a snow storm. Here is a picture of my back yard this morning. Winds to 45 MPH and tons of snow. Not looking good for going anywhere until after Chrismas day. I can't wait til spring.

Yeah, this is going to be one of those rare years when we'll have a white Christmas coast-to-coast in Canada, anyway.

The view from our patio this morning.. rarer still, the Fraser river (in the distance) is full of ice and by now we probably have ice in Georgia Strait.. global warming, you say?

The wind is so bad here in SW Michigan that they've pulled the plows off many of the roads for ineffectiveness. It's drifting over to it's original condition minutes after being plowed. Good day to hunker down in the bunker!

First pic looks about like my yard, normally shovel the snow out of the drive and sidewalk beside the garage and over the shed roof to make a sled hill, but it's too much snow all at once for doing that, enough that I actually locked in the front hubs last night.

Shoveled out the driveway after the last snow, today it looks like nothing has been done to it.

Put an electric space heater in the Ariel to reduce the snow load, bet there's at least a ton of snow on her, glad the trailer has twin 5000lb axles.

More snow means deeper lake levels so it works out good.

Still hate snow though.

Ken.

I definitely don't miss living in the NE. 70's and sunny all week here. I have to admit though, it just never really feels like Christmas without the cold.

blt2ski will become famous soon enough

Taken this afternoon ~3pm PST. There is probably more on her by now, as it has been snowing for the last 7 hrs.

Been awhile since the northern Seattle area has had 10+" of snow on the ground!

Its -3F right now.
Wind chills have been in the -20 - -30F range for two days.
Its been a long time since we have had a cold spell like this in late December, this feels more like January cold than December cold.

Wow, you guys to the north and west are really getting hammered.

It's cold down here in Chesapeake country, too -- for us anyway. Mid-teens this morning with a gale warning. No snow though.

I wrestled the winter cover on the boat over the weekend. Glad it's snugged up finally, just in time.

Fortunately, winter passes quickly down here, but it's still hard to make this abrupt transition.

Been cold here in CO, but we're getting NO snow for Christmas. Gonna be in the 40s and maybe 50s.
