Domestic Violence

Sad story out yesterday.

Texas Judge Gives 7-year-old Right To Decide Custody

Dallas, TX (January 12, 2009) -- A seven year old boy was at the center of a county courtroom drama Monday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents
and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt in keeping with child custody laws requiring family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. The judge then suggested he live with his grandparents but the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the
unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Dallas Cowboys because everyone knows they're not capable of beating anyone.

HEHE! You got that one right. What a slap in the face to them: Chosen at the beginning to win the superbowl and could not even make it to the playoffs. I just don't get them anymore. I think I will turn my attention to baseball. Does Dallas have a baseball team I can follow? (smile).

It's a great example of what's wrong with our judicial system today. It's one of those "Only in America" stories. Makes you wonder if there's any hope for the United States. Makes you want to shout at God, "Why? Why? Why?"
