Unless you're north of Talkeetna, or over along the Copper River Valley, winters aren't too bad. Or hadn't been, until all this Global Warming started

We used to joke that the people from Minnesota moved up there to get warm.

That's a great pic in your signature too Mike.

Thanks PB. It took me some time to figure out how to do it.

My 12 year old is a smart arse, with a computer. After I made my statement about Alaska he's tells me it is 42 degrees in Anchorage! He comes by the smart arse stuff naturally, tree and apple thing.

My Mom and Dad are in Fairbanks and this heat wave is the worst thing that could happen....just what you want, thaw a bunch of snow then hard freeze.
That’s some slippery roads, and frozen sewers.

Lots of info on your area there bubb2.
Being on the other side of the world in a more temperate climate, I cannot see how you would get many opportunities for sailing.
How do you fair on this?

Rick

I live on the Hudson river in New York. We sail all the time, the thing you have to watch out for the landing planes

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
