Luckily the pilot shut down his engine right away.

Not sure why they would not have towed the plane off the dock with the dink in such congested conditions?

Amazingly, they just drive in and drive out under their own power and usually with only the pilot to deal with the lines and such. Pilots will ordinarily just untie the lines, hop in, fire up the motor and taxi away, dodging pleasure boats and ferries as they take off.

As a private SEL pilot and a sailor, I found this fascinating and that is why I was there shooting video.
