Lookit! I'm back!

Hey there everybody! I thought about just popping onto the AFOC thread instead of starting a whole new one, but I wanted to make sure I got my Hello out to everyone. It's been a while and I popped on today to ask for a little help in the prayer and good wishes department.

I've been sick. Really sick--thought for a while (you know how melodramatic writers can be) that I was dying, but it turns out that I'm not--I have a rare disease called Pseudotumor Cerebri. It means "false brain tumor" and basically means that I have all the signs and symptoms of a massive brain tumor without actually having the tumor. There is a buildup of fluid in my brain and spinal column causing a buildup of pressure that is causing all of the symptoms. It's miserable and may cause me to go blind someday, but it won't kill me. And there are treatments for it, but we're at the very beginning of that road.

So if you have some prayers to spare, and can forgive my absence of the last few months, guys I would appreciate 'em. I've missed you guys.

Good to hear from you, DJ. Not so good to hear about your condition. And very glad to hear it's treatable. I read something in the papers awhile back about some woman with a Glock holding it to her internist's head and demanding he treat her. The story had a certain ring about it that I did not catch at the time. Now I do. (g) Of course you'll be in our prayers. (that description scares me just hearing about it, I can hardly imagine what it must have felt like to you!)
