Understand/don’t Understand

OK, I think I understand that some members of this site got upset at the way this site was being administered by the owners of this site.

Those folks looked around and thought they found a spot where the grass was greener.

As they went to that other site, some of their friends from this site decide to join them.

As it apparently turns out, not all of the emigrants found the grass to be truly greener. Some of those folks left that site, some voluntarily, some not voluntarily, returning to this site.

The owner of that site (and at least a few members) seems to be somewhat satisfied with the color of their grass.

As far as I know, no one quit their job, sold their home and/or paid for a mover to go to that site.

What I don’t understand is why some of the folks who have returned to this site would seriously talk about sabotaging the other site. If those people are happy with the color of their grass, why would anyone here advocate plowing it under?

There was a recent posting that the other site may have crashed; some members here seemed to take a great deal of pleasure in that.

I don’t get it!

Train wreck fascination and too much time on their hands, I'd expect. One does wonder at the exodus when sailnet has provided the conveniently located CD punching bag, a virtual limitless resource of stationary vituperation. Save sailnet; tell a dock monitor to bite you today.

AE - guilty as charged. But - the monkeywrenching was not undeserved. So I don't feel bad about it personally.

On the other hand, as I said in FC - I'm kind of done. Plenty of other things to spend time on.

At the end of the day - it will all blow over and they'll have their site the way they want it.

We can only endeavor to bring your treatment here up to those lofty standards.

Good point Mike.

AE28,
Couple of points. Please don't paint everyone with the same brush.
That's too much like what went on over there.
Secondly, many, if not most of the "emigrants" had no intention of leaving SN at all. It's not a one or the other thing.
