Sailor's Pub....
Welcome to the Sailor's pub.
Settling in on a comfortable bar stool, you nod at the bartender. He looks over. You hold up 2 fingers and he pours a double. The shot slides your way and stops in front of you.
The oak bar is immaculate, and the sun shines through the windows which overlook the ocean. The gale is still blowing itself out.
The mandolin player in the back fires off a new set of 'Seafaring tunes' and the guitar player chimes in. You lean back in the chair. For the first time in a long time, you're happy to be ashore. At least for a little while. The music is a welcome change. Rum is good. Good Rum is divine.
Today you sailed. The fear was like the first time -when you were 7- and the off shore breeze picked up. You clawed your way back to shore on the sunfish. Today was the same fear -but the stakes were much higher. At least you got a few pics to document your BFS.
As you look around, a few tables are filled with racers, methodically evaluating every move of this evening's race, a table with a few cruising captains are discussing the weather (and solar panels), and the local gear-heads are fighting over the proper method of mounting rope clutches. (It's not as easy as you think...) Somewhere in the back you hear something about bulldogs but choose to ignore it.
"Menu!?" asks the bartender... and he hands you a leather bound hand-written menu. "We've a chef now." Says the barkeep, and as you look at the menu you realize this is no simple pub. This kitchen is world class.

This is the place to hang out for morning coffee, happy hour beers, and plenty of night caps. We encourage all to take it easy, have the drink of your choice, tell a tale and shoot the breeze. Invite your friends over for one of those dinners that completely 'outclasses' the decor (and probably the company) but not the setting.
Many times, people find it intimidating to start a thread. Just post your question here! We'll chat in an informal setting. We don't want any trouble 'round here so keep the fightin' topics to the Politics/War/Religion/Government threads. (Or, if it's really bad go to Fight Club.)
