Missing Link ?

Always has been one of the big arguments in the intelligent design v evolution debate.

Is this the link ?

Uncle Louie? Doh! 47 million years ago, not 47 years ago. Never mind.

I have always thought that some Lemurs have very anthropomorphic qualities; from their big eyes to their hands. A tail like some of them have could prove handy on a sailboat; two hands for the ship and a tail for yourself.
Missing link? I figured you would have a photo of CCP or some other hairy chested troll lurking about here. Perhaps Alex has a hairy chest.
If it is not 'the' missing link it is just another example of how organisms have evolved over the millennia with many going extinct and new ones popping up here and there. I doubt that this will solve the 'debate' for many as some believe more strongly in things other then science. You can prove anything with statistics so why believe any of it? 5 out of 1 dentists approve of using Crest toothpaste to keep your teeth healthy and white.
Charles Darwin was pretty savvy and decided not to publish his seminal work while he was still young and lived most of his life in relative comfort until he finally published 'On the origin of species'. Lots of people were upset by his ideas then and many still are now.
'Intelligent design' is an interesting idea but I have a hard time recognizing an intelligent designer who is capable of designing the flora and fauna that still exists around us.
Is there really a debate about this? It seems to me you either believe in A or you believe in B or perhaps there is a C and D option that are kept under wraps. It might just be Uncle Louie.

I choose C. I don't think evolution and intelligent design necessarily contradict or exclude each other. Maybe Adam and Eve were the first microbes that were seeded here long ago. A burning bush told me that.

Losing the tail was a retro step no doubt although it would somewhat ruin the line of a nice pair of Levis......I guess it would for an interesting addition to ones love life

"the missing link" is a misleading phrase, as it implies that we have the entire course of human evolution plotted out except for one specimen. evolution is a continuous process so unless we found the remains for every generation leading to modern man there will always be many missing links.

the more accurate phrase is "a missing link"

I think it's a bad idea for people to attempt to discredit science in the name of religion. In the long run they just discredit their religion.

Listen, if the lord can create the earth by mind power in 6 days, then he sure as heck can place some fossils around in an attempt to fool those who have less faith.

I rest my case......

(C'mon, if YOU created the earth, would you just do it straight up and not pull any pranks, no way!)
