I only ask 'cos I'm curious

And I don't want to start up a whole "thing" again but I was wondering what happened to that whole Tartan thread whilst I'd been away.

I know some parts of it were removed for legal reasons but I'm just more interested to know what has actually become of the Tartan builders as a business. What's the state of play for the company/owners etc.

No one seems to be discussing it anymore.

I don't own one and never owned one so I'm just asking as I was following it through the forums. No vested interest other then curiosity.

The thread has been removed and lives on Anything-Sailing.com now in the consumerism section. It is not allowed to be discussed here.

Yes, I was aware of the "bully" bit, but thought general news stuff would still have been mentioned. That's why I was curious , no biggy I can chase it up elsewhere if the mood takes me.

The general news and news updates has been maintained on the AS site but that is experiencing server problems at the moment.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

If they don't want people expressing their opinion about tartan boats, wouldn't it be better, in the interest of fairness and truthfullness all around, to remove any discussion about Tartans?
If they want to control what's said about them, why not let them pay an ad agency.

Ken.

Interesting.
It has been well established in law that operators of web forums are not responsible (in the manner feared) for user-generated content.

I didn't follow the whole thing, but unless the thread was clearly some kind of an attack by another commercial outfit (a competitor making boats, etc.), then Tartan would not have a leg to stand one.

Anyway, I'm glad that someone else picked up the info. It would be a shame for such information to NOT be available to prospective purchasers of these and other boats.
