Disappointed in My Favorite Celebrity Sailor

Probably a good bit off-topic, but...

Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite celebrity sailors. Yes, he can be a bit dramatic when talking about his single-handed off-shore passages in his interviews, but I am huge Shawshank fan...

Now, it turns out that he left his wife to marry his granddaughter

True, she is a step granddaugther because he adopted her mother, but even having to put a sentence together that says that is wrong...

Just got done watching Shawshank last night. Nothing wrong with marrying someone not blood related. That's why they have laws. It's just a wee bit peculiar. Besides being a fellow resident of S.F. Bay we have probably seen a whole lot of stuff much stranger than that........i2f

Sailormon6 will become famous soon enough
I have to agree with Redwood. Although it might not be a crime against the laws of our government to marry one's step-granddaughter, nevertheless most of us outside of SF Bay consider it a lapse of morality and ethics to dump one's wife merely to satisfy one's selfish desire for a younger woman, never mind the fact that the young hottie is the wife's own daughter, for crying out loud! But, maybe he wasn't just looking for looking for good sex. Maybe she's a good conversationalist.

Never said it didn't sound odd. Just stated it is legal. Maybe she is a good conversationist, but maybe it just keeps him young, and alive. There are people in S.F. who would agree on the lack of morality. I just stated we have seen some pretty wierd stuff. Not all people in the Bay Area are liberals, and bleeding hearts, and, or lacking morals. If you read my whole post you will read I agree it is peculiar. It is possible you know that the wife is failing him in many facets of their relationsship, so he looked elsewhere?....have a nice weekend....i2f

Keep in mind he is not from San Francisco, he is from Mississippi. If you have been there you would understand a little better.

Yes he is a celebrity sailor and pilot. He was just listed as source for aviation inspiration in a website today, funny they did not mention this little fact.

Just looked up the article and it says not only did he leave his wife or 25 years, he left his mistress as well.
