Sailing and Protection

Just shooting this out there...ahaha play on words. I am located on the Southern Coast of Texas, sailing the bay and Gulf Coast waters there. Just curious on what a sailor can pack with them on a boat in those waters as far as shotguns, 22 pistols? Going into international waters seems like there would be laws and restrictions but I would like to keep some protection with me.

You can pack whatever you are legal for in Texas in international waters. If you come ashore in other states...you need to plan what their laws will allow particularly with handguns.
International waters are fine...the national water of another country like Mexico are another story entirely and noonsite.com has country by country rules.

i used to live in mexico. if you bring a gun there you are likely to go to jail. Mexican jails are no fun at all.
