Weird Weather

Have a look at this.

Monster dust storm blankets Sydney - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

I remember Melbourne gettting hit by one of these some years back but I've never seen anything like in Sydney and I've lived here all my life.

Waking up to it was seriously weird. No birds. Not a one. They are my alarm clock. Freaky silence and total red/ochre whiteout (redout ?) . You can taste it. And it's blowing a gale.

Maybe some of you who live close to the dessert might have experienced this but whoa....

wtf....I like REM.......

and I've just remembered that I left a hatch open on the Womboat when we left her Sunday......oh blech......

Wow.

It's actually pretty cool in a "freak of nature" sort of way -- if it didn't make such a mess.

A story to tell the grandchildren:

"Gather round, kids, and I'll tell you how the Womboat came to have tanbark sails..."
