Thank you Faster....just wanted I wanted....to be dragged into an Iraq war thread.........

Oh dear.

Hey Erps...that should be "types with a New Zulland excint" (whoa...that sounds more that a Sith African excint than a New Zulland") maybe should be axcunt.....yeah, that's better.."New Zulland axcunt"....though in truth it should be an Orstrielian accint......

As someone once remarked the worst thing about Australia is that it's so far away........to which Australians reply......the worst ?

Yes we are also known as the West Island of NZ.....I can live with that. More sheep for us to shear.....shear ?...go find your own.....I ain't shearin with no one.

Joke 1 - in poor taste
.......... Australian farmer and a Kiwi farmer who find a sheep caught up in a barbed wire fence ? Kiwi drops his shorts and has his way with the poor beast. When he's finished he asks the Australian if he wants a go. The Australian drops his shorts, bends over and sticks his head in the barbed wire fence.

Joke 2 - maybe not so poor taste
When asked why so many Kiwis went to live in Australia, former Kiwi Prime Minister, Robert "Piggy" Muldoon famously replied " I'm not sure but it certainly improves the IQ level of both nations".

Joke 3 - in extremely poor taste
The Iraq War (though I'd reckon the poor bustards who are being killed and wounded each and every day, don't think it's funny.)

"Ongoing stability operation".....wow that's a zinger......betcha the spin doctor who thought that one up got a bonus.....

it was worth it.......

was ww two worth it? what if our grandfathers said no? where would this nation be now? where would the world be now? ya think it would be a better place? we lost more troops than that in three different days, saving the world from the same mentality of people we are fighting now..........

but the politically correct bunch seem to think we can fight a kinder gentler war. if we had fought to win like you should, this whole mess would'ave been cleared up in just a few days, with minimal loss of american life. ya fight a war to win, not to appease..........

sure the wmds were there. if you inform your foe three months in advance of your intentions, that gives them a goodly amount of time for preperation and moving things of that sort...........duh...........

If one sees war as a novel solution to a problem. They should probably evaluate their worldview before they decide to kill someone.

The Iraq war was not about democracy, or freedom, or WMDs, or defeating evil. Sadly, it was about the control of a very strategic area of the world and it's natural resources. 9/11 produced enough trauma and fear in the American public to enable our government to sell a war to a nation that would otherwise reject it during more "normal" times. This war was a lie and a tragedy for many. And yes, I can say this and also support our honorable troops.

I do believe the strategy or lack of it in the middle east was very unfair to the troops. Servicemen dont ask why they just salute and do the job. We owe it to them to make sure that the cause to which they dedicate their lives is just, fair and necessary. And that their use is one of last resort. When the US left the Afghan task uncompleted to attack Iraq they committed a huge strategic mistake. Much like the Germans did in WW2 and committed to a two front war. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. I object not just to the fact that the war was unnecessary but also stupid. Of the two Stupidity is a greater sin.

agreed.........

we will never rid the world of strife, political and religous turmoil, but it can be minimized. question is, where do you draw the line, and to what extent of involvement should our intervention be?........
