i say hang him slow, so he passes out, then lift him up a few times until he wakes then repeat.

or take a big tub about 8 feet deep and 8 feet wide. grind up a few pigs, dilute the pigs with water then drown him in it.

For me as a Christian this is the hardest commandment.....'Love your neighbor as yourself "

If there is anything I would like to have back other than the lives of all those whom have fallen...it is the worlds sympathy after 9-11

They will eventually cook their own goose depending on how we respond to them..

It doesn't help save lives and takes way too long for our liking but..it has something to do with an eye of a needle if I recall.

Badsanta I see them often on CBC and BBC but you are right you dont see much on US news. I think the greatest casualty of the Iraq war and the Bush administration was the media. Today you have Fox with a political position on one side and MSNBC with almost as leaning a position on the other. Lacking are the days when journalists in the US spoke truth to power. Where are the Woodward's, the Bernstein's today? The gretest casualty of the war was in fact truth. Its very sad and very serious in my mind.

Maybe you are not looking.

By then, nevertheless, Arab-American and Muslim-American advocacy organizations were already readying themselves for a backlash. The Arab-American Institute said it received one threatening call from an unidentified male shortly after reports surfaced that the name of the alleged shooting suspect was Nidal Malik Hasan. The group, which condemned the massacre, said it was expecting more.

"We like to give people the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to being a reactionary thing," said Leigh O'Neill, director of government relations for the organization. "But there is a lot of hate out there and hate is hate. It is bipartisan and doesn't have geographic balance. We feel terrible for the victims today. And I wish people will understand when crime is crime and terrorism is terrorism."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil liberties organization for American Muslims, was, meanwhile, working fast to get ahead of a potential rise in anti-Muslim sentiment. The group was set to host a press conference at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening to condemn the attacks and "urge calm" in the aftermath of the shooting.

Here is another story that got no coverage.

Quote:
Austin, Texas, 30 October 2009 — At the invitation of Texas State Governor Rick Perry, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat. During the visit, Hazar Imam and Governor Perry also held talks at the State Capitol on a range of issues of mutual interest.
The Ismaili: Mawlana*Hazar*Imam signs agreement between the Ismaili Imamat and the State of Texas

Texas and Muslims are cooperating.

And another

Quote:
“It’s a horrific incident," Al-Marayati continued. "I don’t want to minimize the magnitude of the violence that took place ... we stand shoulder to shoulder with people in our government, and with the military and with law enforcement against anyone who decides to act out of either any psychological disorders or any other motivating factors to commit a heinous act against other Americans.”

Formed in 1988, MPAC is committed to working for the civil rights of American Muslims, in addition to a constructive relationship between American Muslims and their representatives.

For Al-Marayati, the challenge lies in “the Muslim American identity whereby we can help to foster a positive identity” towards contributing to American society while overcoming internal and external obstacles.

"Maybe you are not looking."

Maybe they need to get their message out so people don't need to look for it. They should be shouting from the rooftops. 'Corse, I do reconize one problem they have ..... the radical's will kill fellow muslems as quick as they'll kill us. Many muslems may fear retribution (even in this country) if they are too "American." I'm not saying that's true, but it is believable given past and present actions by the radicals.

IMHO when you take "radical" and "militant" and mix with any religon you've got bad news. Muslem's don't have a corner on killing for God; they're just the ones in the news now, and they're killing us.

Please don't take me as anti muslem; I'm not. In fact, I think America's strength is in our diversity and muslems just add to that diverseity. I welcome them to become productive members of our society and take advantage of the freedoms we have that allow them to practice their individual beliefs. Add their flavor to our American Stew, just don't look to become the only flavor.

And get used to our American humor .... nothing is sacred when it comes to laughter, that's another thing that makes us great.

Why not try and avoid words like 'brainwashed' and pointing to the killer's religion? And we do not know if this guy was a terrorist. He did not act as one, did he.

We are all brainwashed in one way or another, and many are religious. A 'brainwashed religious shooter' would go a long way towards not making Muslim members of the forum feel like it belongs to, or is driven by, White Christians or any other religious minority.
