a touchy subject among a lot of sailing circles. especially we control freaks who call ourselves sailors. i wanted to bring up your topic a long time ago, but was not sure what kind of reception i would get.......

my bday is march ninre, of 06' not long in the program, but always try to catch at least two meetings a week. it's the only way i can retain my sanity. maybe i should attend more, and i believe if you think you should be attending more, you should. make any sense outta that?.......

there are others here i'm sure. your thread topic is sure to bring'em out. thanks, and keep coming back.............

not too much worried about the stuffed shirt, holier than thou types. they who look down thier noses at others doing whatever it takes to stay sober don't do much for me anyway. i've been to meetings in many a different port, and always have found friends. let'em scream...........

i find talking to others who share my disease increases the level of my serenity. that is another reason i love sailing. it puts me at peace with the world and my higher power........

so for post seven hundred, i will add: anonimity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions. that means that i can say that i'm an alcoholic and i was here tonite, but i cannot say that you're an alcoholic or that i saw you here.....

this looks like an open meeting to me, and ALL are welcome to attend open meetings........
