Who likes Scrapple?

hey guys, it's me again with another silly "off topic" topic. being born and raised on the eastern shore of maryland, i grew up eating scrapple as the main breakfast course. yeah, we also had bacon, sausage, steak and occasionally fish as the main breakfast fare, but my personal favorite and most consumed was scrapple.......

i now live in georgia, and scrapple is not easy to find, and when you can find it, it is quite substandard to the shore varities.......

how many of y'all like scrapple, and what is your favorite brand? my personal favorite is ray and pauls.........

Scrapple.... *shudder*

Why is it that some regional cultures feel that you have to use up every last piece and part of a butchered animal?
Do you know what is on the menu in hell?
Scrapple, head cheese, spam, chicken feet soup, sweet and sour chicken balls, macaroni and cheese loaf and jell-o.

i think it was introduced by the dutch in central pennsylvania before we were a nation. denise, ya got it right. high heat, crusty. nothing like a smoked up kitchen/galley with the smell of scrapple wafting through the rest of the cabin/home..............

I have never been hungry enough in my life to eat scrapple. I understand in the days before mass production of food when we had to work hard for what we ate, but when you have a supermarket available to you, why in God's name would you eat this stuff?

We all know that hot dogs are scraps from meat packing plants. I posit that scrapple is scraps from hot dog plants.

I love scrapple but getting it here is impossible. Years ago we had frozen scrapple in the supermarkets, I think the brand was Parks but now it's gone. Wish I had some for breakfast.

I wish that I had never stumbled across this thread...

scrapple is not easy to find...
There is a reason for that!

I will eat almost anything, and truly enjoy the variety of foods available to us. But I draw the line at kʰày yîaw máa (century-duck-eggs - you don't want to know), monkey brains, and now, Scrapple.

So far just you!
