Killer Whales

Am I too nervous (unlikely) or is it just a bad idea to play with someone whose first name is "Killer" and outweighs you by a ton? When I was at Seaworld, I declined the opportunity to pet the "killer" whale. Are there going to be circus tricks with Polar Bears next?
Some animals should be left alone.

It always amazes me that people are surprised when large dangerous animals act normal.

My kids still hate me because, I wouldn't pay to let them ride the elephant before the circus show began.

I was surprised by a couple of things that have come to light regarding this whale.
1.He had killed two other people in the past, and was still on display. If my dog bites a neighbour kid who was poking him with a stick, I'd be urged to have my dog put down. If my dog KILLED that kid, there is no question i would kill the dog myself, no hesitation. A serial killer whale, though, is apparently a different issue.

2. That it doesn't happen more often. If i was captured and held in captivity by creatures much smaller than me and ordered to perform for food, I'd be viewing the spectators as an all-you-can-eat buffet.

I'm surprised Tilikum was able to get across the border with a record.

The movie is relevant because it is about putting cetaceans in captivity. It shows and talks about seaworld shows, and much of the treatment and training of the dolphins is congruous with that of the orcas.

The movie is not only about dolphins for food, another element is the capturing and sale of dolphins for captivity.

It seems relevant to me.

My wife and I have done some swimming with Dolphins and seals in the ocean both trained and I have kayaked with Humpback wales in Hawii. You pretty much have to face the fact that if they want to kill you then thats it. Even though the trainer tells you it is safe, I was always aware that like a fish out of water I was a human in the water. Shark dives are tuff too.

I'd pay double to see killer whales eat people.
