Thanks SN, for protecting the whiners from themselves. While claiming that a thread is useless and someone's opinion is meritless, there are those that can't help themselves, and rather than ignoring the thread, continue to participate in what they deem to be useless. I'm not sure what that condition is called in the psychology world, but I think it might be somewhat unhealthy. If a poster's opinion is truly without merit, then the thread will die naturally from lack of attention. In the case of the "Hunter cracked hulls" there was an obvious difference of opinion of merits of the case. Both sides argued their respective sides fairly for the most part. Like with most polarizing issues, continuing the argument is not going to change the minds of the participants, but it does help formulate the opinions of those listening. That is what debate is all about. I think this debate had long way to go before the point was reached that nothing more could be gained from it. Instead, some of those on one side (the usual suspects) sought to end the argument by closing the thread. Come on, ya freaking babies, if you don't think a thread is useful, then don't participate in it, but don't decide for me what is or isn't important.

c'mon Izzy, were there any new revelations to come in that thread? Any stunning insights, any expert testimony on polymers and plastic hull technology? any consumer advocates going to jump to that clown's defense?

If so, then why the hell hadn't it happened in the first half- dozen pages?

It wasn't deleted, it was simply closed. think of it like TV- some shows are like "Cheers", great for hundreds of episodes, and some shows are like "Fawlty Towers" short, sweet and ended before it got ugly.

I actually have no problem with it...especially in cases where it turns into a clear vendetta against a company or an individual. Seen that happen a few times.

Maybe not, but it is interesting that when he was ask for the new input, that of other testimonials from other owners, when he started to provide them, the thread is closed. Me thinks that smells just a little. And BTW, there is nothing in that thread that I saw that merits anyone calling wundrbar a clown. He had a beef, somewhat legitimate from my POV, that he stated. Some of you came back with different POV's, which I also thought had validity. But I saw no where, when wundrbar didn't just state his case as facts and comment that in his opinion the manufacturer's actions were wrong. And Smack, I don't see where that in any way constitutes a vendetta. The guy was just responding to questions from his detractors. Name calling and vitriol seemed to be coming from the other side.
